welcome to Crash Support Network

The Crash Support Network is a truly unique platform that brings together road safety education and survivor-focused support in one compassionate, accessible space. Created for individuals and families affected by motor vehicle collisions, we offer virtual support groups, a crash survivor blog, a quarterly newsletter “Sharing Our Recovery,” and a growing collection of informative, easy-to-understand articles.

What sets the Network apart is its dual focus: helping people rebuild their lives after being injured in a crash while actively promoting safer roads for everyone. Through shared stories, practical guidance, and lived experiences, we highlight how quickly life can change, why road safety matters every single day and reinforces that prevention and recovery are deeply connected.

At its core, the Crash Support Network is built on relationships, empathy, and community. It provides a safe space where survivors can connect, learn, and feel supported without judgment. At the same time, it serves as an educational resource for the broader public raising awareness, encouraging accountability, and helping reduce the likelihood of future crashes.  By putting survivors first while amplifying the importance of road safety, the Crash Support Network is a community-driven movement toward healing, awareness, and safer roads for all.

Approximately 1.19 million people lose their lives in motor vehicle crashes around the world every year.

Between 20 and 50 million people are injured annually in road crashes. Many of these injuries are severe and can result in long-term disability, chronic pain, reduced mobility, and significant mental health impacts such as PTSD and anxiety.  Many survivors can experience life-changing injuries, including brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, fractures, and psychological trauma that can affect them for years.

Survivors often face long-term rehabilitation, including surgeries, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and psychological support. Recovery can take months, years, or in some cases, a lifetime.

Road traffic crashes are the leading cause of death for children and young adults between the ages of 5 and 29.

Most motor vehicle crashes are preventable.

Creating A Community Where Survivors Can Connect Is Crucial

The connection between Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and Motor Vehicle Crashes is clear. Over 500,000 Canadians sustain a TBI a year, and half of these injuries are the result of motor vehicle crashes.  We are proud to connect with the Crash Support Network and work in partnership to support survivors of brain injury.

Grateful and Thankful for Healing

I was recently involved in a crash by a reckless driver who left me feeling anxious, afraid and vulnerable. When I reached out to the Crash Support Network I received a personal response and invite to the support group which has been vital to my healing. Dawne is amazing and took the time to speak to me and provide resources for me to move forward. Crash Support Network is such an invaluable resource beyond what anyone who has experienced a crash can imagine. I have recommended this group to other survivors and would recommend the book and groups to anyone who has been in a crash. Thank you for all you do!
