Dear crash survivor,
I want you to know—I get it. This is your old body speaking. Listen up because I have a lot to share with you.
Ever since your motor vehicle crash, you’ve been missing the “old you.” And with the holidays approaching, I know this time of year can feel especially difficult. Despite what holiday songs and commercials suggest, this season isn’t always full of joy and celebration. For many crash survivors, it can be a time of depression, anxiety, and isolation.
You may not even realize how much pain you’re carrying because we often stop talking about it. But I want you to know that your feelings are valid and you don’t have to face them alone. Right now, what you need is a hug. Consider this my hug to you.
Surviving a collision can change your life in the blink of an eye. It reshapes how you think, how you move through the world, and sometimes even who you feel you are. Many of us will never be the same after a crash and that’s okay. Healing is not about returning to who we were; it’s about finding ways to move forward with care, patience, and support.
You Are Not Alone
There is support. You are not alone. Yes, you read that correctly, it’s true. You are not alone. I am here, and there’s a community of more than 1,500 survivors ready to offer encouragement, understanding, and inspiration every day. The Crash Support Network Group is a safe space where we share our journeys, our struggles, and our victories.
This holiday season, remember to be gentle with yourself. Healing after a motor vehicle crash is not a race. It’s a journey, and every small step forward matters. Take a deep breath. Reach out if you need connection. And give yourself the care you deserve—you’ve earned it. From one crash survivor to another, allow yourself space for healing, for rest, and for reaching out. Even in difficult times, you are seen, valued, and never alone.
