life changing

When I first started an Online Support Group for victims of motor vehicle crashes back in 2015, I never thought I would eventually launch a quarterly newsletter and become a Crash Survivor Blogger not to mention a self-published author.  A lot has happened since that fateful day when I was involved in a horrific motor vehicle crash and created the Crash Support Network Group.

I just published our 18th Issue of our quarterly newsletter, “Sharing our Recovery”, I have written over 80 Crash Survivor Blogs and the Crash Support Network celebrates three years this month.  I have been invited as a guest on Podcasts such as the After the Crash Podcast as well as the Distracted Driving Podcast which gave me a wonderful opportunity to talk about the Crash Support Network and my book, Talk Crash to Me.  These podcasts are available to listen to under our “Media” section on the Crash Support Network’s website and I encourage you to have a listen.

Over the last several years, I have continued to meet so many courageous survivors and connect with many wonderful organizations that support victims of motor vehicle crashes.  I am pleased to donate countless hours to my crash survivor community by sharing resources, highly informative articles and inspiring posts with survivors from all across the world.  A year ago, I also wrote and self-published my first book, Talk Crash to Me – What to Expect After Surviving a Motor Vehicle Collision and How to Manage Your Recovery which is available for purchase on Amazon.

Talk Crash to Me continues to receive so many wonderful reviews and victims are continuously reaching out to me to thank me for writing this book.  Many readers are also sending me photos and it brings me such joy to see a survivor reading my book in a hospital while they are recovering or to see my book reaching different parts of the world.  I’ve even had many survivors tell me that they keep my book close to them so when they are having a bad day, they can easily pick it up and read a chapter that may resonate with them at that particular moment.  I am also truly thankful to the Organizations and Businesses that have purchased quantity orders of Talk Crash to Me to hand out to their clients as they start their recovery journey as this is definitely a book that I wish someone had given me at the start of my recovery.

The Crash Support Network Continues to Grow

Our audience has grown tremendously.  We now have 1000+ members in our online support group, 1500+ loyal subscribers to the Sharing our Recovery Newsletter as well as numerous followers on our social media channels including You Tube.  The Crash Support Network is so grateful to our sponsors for their continued support who make it possible to provide this valuable resource.  Your support allows me to continue to work hard at bringing much needed awareness to crash survivors and to provide a highly informative platform.

If you would like to get involved with the Crash Support Network, become a guest blogger, submit an article to be published in our Sharing our Recovery Newsletter, sponsor the Crash Support Network or purchase my book, Talk Crash to Me, let’s connect!  If you are an Organization or a Business that help victims of motor vehicle crashes and are interested in purchasing a quantity order of my book, please reach out to me.  I could use your help!

Someone said to me the other day, “When will you stop supporting crash survivors?” and my response was: “Never!  Survivors need all the support they can get and when I was involved in a life changing crash, I felt very alone when I was left to face numerous life changes.  It’s important to me that survivors do not feel alone and I’m in the perfect position to help other crash survivors cope and, to show as much support as I can.”

You Will Remember the Lessons

For anyone that is just starting out on their recovery journey after being involved in a motor vehicle crash, I think you are so brave for getting yourself outside to take a deep breath.  I know how much it hurts your soul when your body lets you down and you are not alone.  The moments where I feel sad and powerless are less but they still happen.  I have learnt that I am here and I am important.  When all is said and done, you will remember the lessons of that mountain you constantly have to climb.  It is this same mountain that will eventually take you to the top.  I promise.  I have discovered that I am more resilient than ever and you will too.

I used to think to myself for several years after my crash, “If only I could turn back the clock” and today I no longer feel that way because I have so many things to be grateful for.  I know how difficult it is to pick up the pieces after surviving a life changing crash and during the first 3-4 years into my recovery, I could only see what I had lost but now I see all of the things that I have gained.

This month, the Crash Support Network is celebrating three years and as always, I am excited to see what is on the horizon.  Thank you for following my journey and always remember that every step you take in your recovery is worth celebrating and you are not alone.
