Members of our online support group may have some busy days ahead of them as we enter the fall season. September has a back-to-school vibe that’s hard to shake. This tends to be true even if it’s been many years since you were a student and even if you currently have no school-age children at home. You intuitively know the days will get shorter, your sunny holidays are done for the year and the back-to-school/back-to-work “excitement” has arrived. A changing season is upon us and I’ve been waiting for the perfect moment to write this. I think that the tail end of summer is just that moment as I am in absolute awe of how lucky I am to have the compassionate and engaged following that I do. It is truly remarkable that something that started as a way to connect with other motor vehicle crash survivors has turned into quite an engaged platform.
Not only have the members of our online support group been receptive and supportive towards me as a survivor of a horrific motor vehicle crash as well as the creator of the group, but members have extended that grace to each other. I have seen everything from numerous members embracing each other and cheering each other on during their frustrations with their recovery to members reminding us that it is okay to laugh as we are left to face another stressful day with numerous challenges.
You Are Not Alone
I can honestly say that I think we all have turned our online community into a safe haven where we can feel free to be ourselves and share our deepest struggles and fears. In this safe environment, you can share your challenges, successes, and realize that you are not alone. We currently have 1000 + members because surviving a motor vehicle crash is not an easy journey. I commend each and every crash survivor for their strength, determination and empathy that we carry towards each other.
Truly amazing interactions have taken place in the Crash Support Network Group and I will go as far to say that I have even seen members reaching out to fellow survivors offering to message them if they need to chat. Crash survivors struggling with their own daily challenges offering their support to others gives me goosebumps each and every time I see it.
Support groups are offered as a space where individuals can come together to share their stories, experiences, and our lives in a way that helps reduce isolation. Once you are involved in an unexpected motor vehicle crash, survivors are left to face numerous daily challenges during their recovery and our online support group is always here for you on any given day at every given hour all in the comfort of your own home! If you or someone you know is a survivor of a motor vehicle crash, we welcome you to join our online support group by clicking here: Crash Support Network Group.
Making a Difference
I wish each and every one of you continued healing as we enter this changing season and I want to personally thank you for being one of the most engaged, empathetic and supportive groups that I could have ever wished for. I am so grateful to all of my followers and to each person that takes the time to comment and share my posts. All of you have truly made a difference in my life and the awareness that you have brought to our online community is truly remarkable. May we continue to support each other throughout our recoveries as no one should ever feel alone on this journey that so many of us are left to face. I am excited to see what’s ahead for the Crash Support Network!
